Day 15 of the Yoga Challenge!
Good Morning to you on day 15 of the Yoga Challenge! I hope you are having a relaxing start to your Sunday morning maybe enjoying a lovely herbal tea with the morning papers spread out on your duvet. Whoops! I floated into a fantasy for a moment! No doubt most of you are headed out to far flung fields for Rugby or Football matches several hours of rain soaked spectating ahead. I hope you will be able to make time this afternoon for yourself and your yoga practice. I have an inspirational photo and quote that might help you to get your mat out and get started....

Day 14 of the Yoga Challenge! Congratulations you have completed two weeks!
Congratulations we are almost half way through the 31 Day Yoga Challenge! I hope you are finding that the benefits of daily yoga are kicking in now that you have reached two full weeks of practice. My intention is to find a full 30 minutes today to really focus on my Sun Salutation A and B and work on my Warrior sequence. I would love to know how you are doing. Have you tried a Green Goddess Smoothie? Let me know what you are up to for the weekend.

Bedtime yoga blog
Good Evening yogi's! I hope you are home and starting to relax into the weekend. I have decided to do a weekend detox and focus on fruit and vegetables. I found a great green smoothie recipe which I think will taste divine as well as do amazing work on building up my immune system. I know many people have had lingering colds and coughs this Winter which seem to have hung on for much longer than usual. My solution is to fight these nasty bugs with the antioxidants found in fruit and vegetables. I know that even when I think I am eating well I often am not getting enough variety of fresh produce in my diet. Juicing is a great solution because you can combine so many wonderful ingredients in one delicious glass. So here is my Friday night mocktail...which I know I will enjoy and not regret in the morning...
Green Goddess
Green Goddess
Packed with power, green fruit and vegetables are seriously healthy bursting with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The Green Goddess will help you detoxify, alkalise and gain energy and give your immune system a turbo boost.
Blend... Apple, cucumber, spinach, lemon, lemon peel, ginger, celery, pear, avocado, banana, apple juice, parsley and anything else that's green and tastes great
Helpful Hint... Add green tea or freshly juiced beetroot. Green tea can boost the metabolism, while beetroot helps to flush bile and clean the liver.
Lucky Friday! Day 13 of the Yoga Challenge!
Happy Lucky Friday to all of you! We have had such a wonderful class in the dome today. The energy was flowing and everyone was lifted by working together and overcoming a little discomfort to reach a higher level of practice. I was impressed with how many people really stretched themselves working to overcome their own limitations and reach their goals. It was a challenging practice with a very well earned relaxation at the end. Well done to all of you who came to start your weekend on a high note. I know it has set me up so well for the weekend.
I really hope you are able to take some time this weekend to focus on your own practice. I have found that it is getting easier to slip in small practice moments even if just for 5 or 10 minutes in the kitchen or when the kids are watching TV. As I was saying to you this morning if you do one Asana during the day make it Down Dog. It is such a total body toning pose that literally reaches almost every muscle in the body. If you do only 1 minute of Down Dog in the kitchen while cooking dinner this is a victory. I think the more you just break into spontaneous postures the better. Practice does not have to be formal it can be improvisational and spur of the moment. I have practiced in parking lots, waiting rooms, swimming pools, department stores, hair dressers, restaurants, friend's houses even on airplanes. Yoga is the most portable form of exercise in the world. You can do it anywhere anytime.
I hope you will fight for your right to practice yoga and banish any worries about the right time and place. Anytime is the right time because you will benefit and feel better whether its for 30 seconds or 3 hours. Go for it! I hope to see random acts of yoga all over Surrey this weekend!

Day 12 of the Yoga Challenge!
Good Morning Fellow Yogi's! Another beautiful Spring day is dawning and I am feeling wonderful after a good night's sleep. Please join me for HIT yoga in the dome this morning at 9.15 as we will be fat burning for 20 minutes before a high powered Hot Yoga session of 40 minutes following our cardio vascular kick start. If you have not tried HIT Yoga it is a wonderful way to combine the benefits of intense cardio with the strength/flexibility building that yoga provides. Fresh air, sunshine, cardio and yoga all in one! The benefits of HIT are proven to last far longer than a steady jog. The short interval high intensity bursts really boost your metabolic rate for the next 24 hours so you are increasing your fat burning throughout the day not just during the exercise. Following the HIT with Yoga is the perfect way to give your body all it needs in the way of stretching, flexibility, muscle toning and relaxation. You will be on fire ready for anything after a session of HIT Yoga.
Please remember to sign up for my Detox Yoga Workshop with live Kirtan music on Saturday 28 of March at Cafe Mila in Godalming. It is from 1pm to 3pm and will be a really special event. I hope you can make it. If you book before the 16th of March you will get a discount. Please see my website at www.yogainsurrey.co.uk for all the information.
If you are here during the Easter Break please do come to the Medicine Garden for Yoga classes throughout the holidays. For the first time there will be classes throughout April so bring a friend, partner, husband... neighbor and get fit over the break. Adults are 5 pounds per person during the holidays and teenagers are free so bring your sons and daughters to the dome! Introduce them to yoga giving them a wonderful resource to call on for the rest of their lives.
Have a wonderful day! Hope to see you in the dome!

Good Morning Day 11 of the Yoga Challenge!
Good Morning Yogi's! What a beautiful morning it has been so far... I looked out my window before sunrise this morning and the sky was full of pink candy floss clouds contrasting with the bright blue of the sky... a perfect way to start the day. I think we are looking at another beautiful day. I feel so refreshed after a deep sleep last night following my bedtime practice. I am feeling very positive and full of life this morning. I have been focusing on my breathing to deepen and expand my inhalations and really exhale fully during my practice. I think it is making a difference in a big way to my feeling of well being. I can't wait to see you all in the dome this morning. I know we will have fantastic energy today... I can feel it in the air!
