Are you heading out on holiday this Summer?  Whether you are soaking up the sun by a pool or hiking in the Alps or body boarding at the beach, yoga is wonderfully travel friendly.

You don't need a gym, track or pool... you don't even need a mat.  All you need is time to fit it in while you are on holiday and the benefits will help you make the most of your time away.  Remember it doesn't matter how short or long your practice is... you will always feel better for it...

And if you are stay-cationing here in Surrey remember to come to Yoga every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the Medicine Garden in Cobham.

Make Hydration more Fun with Water Mocktails!

Image result for photo of grapefruit, lemon, lime
It can be challenging to stay hydrated in hot weather.  Drinking enough water can become a bit of a chore.

A great way to add some fun to your daily water intake is to make a water mocktail...Get a large pint glass fill it with ice, add water and then squeeze your favorite citrus fruits into the glass.

Grapefruit, lemon, orange or lime... add just one or all four and create a healthy and delicious alternative to increase your water intake.

Citrus fruits also restore the acid / alkaline balance throughout your digestive system.  So enjoy your water mocktails this weekend!

Join Meditate 4 Compassion on Saturday 11 July ...And change the world for the better.......

The Power of One

A Compassionate World Starts
With You

How do we change the world? By taking a stand for compassion, one person at a time. Join Deepak Chopra, Gabrielle Bernstein, Ismael Cala, and more than 500,000 people from nearly every country in the world, as we come together online on Saturday, July 11th, with one common intention – to turn around the rising tide of disconnection in the world and, through renewed empathy and love, reconnect to what truly matters.

It Only Takes One Person to Inspire Others and Create Widespread Change

Last year’s Global Meditation event set the Guinness World Record for the largest online meditation gathering in history, when more than 140,000 people from nearly every country in the world came together with Deepak and meditated with one powerful shared intention – to cultivate peace.
The impact was immediate and widespread. Families came together to meditate for the very first time. Neighbors became friends as they gathered in each other’s homes. Yoga studios became true community centers, as people all over the world came together and took a stand for peace.

Who would have guessed that Andy Murray is a Hot Power Yoga Fanatic?  We might even go so far as to say that his professional rise in the world tennis rankings may be in part due to his incorporating Hot Power Yoga into his rigorous training schedule.

Hot Power Yoga can offer so many benefits to athletes providing improved balance and flexibility, increased core strength, injury prevention and breath awareness and control.

So if your partner/ husband/ ball and chain and / or better half is a keen golfer, tennis player, runner, footballer, cyclist... basically any type of sportsman... Yoga can offer many benefits to improve sporting performance.

And if Andy is doing it... it's definitely macho enough for any man Lol... So bring your man to the dome over the summer for some sports rehabilitation...  See you in the dome!

Savasana... Access the peace of your practice.....

When you are in Savasana, lying on your mat after an intense yoga class ready to let the magic of your practice transform you... do you imagine a safe haven, a secret place you can return to in times of stress and conflict?

Your final relaxation after your yoga practice is a powerful opportunity to create a personal oasis to return to when we need a respite from the challenges of daily life.

Access the power of Savasana at any time... in a traffic jam, an argument, a conflict at work or when you simply need time out...

Close your eyes, inhale deeply. exhale slowly ... and recall the feelings of peaceful well being, relaxation and joy that being deeply grounded in your body in that moment, can produce....

You can create a visual sanctuary, perhaps a place from your childhood, a mountain lake, a secluded beach, a tree house...or create a new refuge entirely from your imagination... The possibilities are infinite... take time to explore and imagine...

You carry all that you need within you...

Sun Salutation .... Absorb the energy of the Sun!

Image result for photo of yoga down dog in the sun

Summer Sunlight.... Harness the power and inspiration of the sun by practicing your sun salutation in the fresh air and sunlight.  We are so blessed with wonderful Summer weather and what better way to benefit from the energising power of the sun than to absorb those rays whenever possible.  So grab your mat and head outside and take 15 minutes to focus on your sun salutation. That 15 minutes will super charge the rest of your day transferring the sun's energy into your muscles, mind and heart.
