The temperature is rising and along with enjoying the hot weather it's important to increase your water intake as well as replenish electrolytes.  Here are some tips to beat the heat and keep your body balanced both inside and out.
Water
  • Coconut Water contains all five key electrolytes: potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, sodium and calcium.
  • Replenish your electrolytes to help your body utilise the water you drink.  You can add lemon juice or any citrus such as grapefruit or lime to water to load up on electrolytes and balance your digestive system from acidic to alkaline.
  • Wear clothing designed to breathe and absorb sweat  during yoga class.
  • Try not to wipe sweat off your skin during class as the water acts as a natural cooling system balancing your body temperature.
  • Sip water during class but do not drink large amounts until after the class has finished to maximise the benefit of your practice.
  • If you are feeling sluggish, sleepy or have a low grade headache during hot weather you are suffering from dehydration.
